หลังจากที่หมดหวังกับการได้ชมภาพยนตร์เรื่อง "แสงศตวรรษ" ในโรงภาพยนตร์ในประเทศไทยแล้ว ข่าวคราวของภาพยนตร์เรื่องนี้ก็เหมือนจะเลือนลางจางหายไปคล้ายหมอกต้องแสงแดด
แต่และแล้ว! สวรรค์ก็เป็นใจ ขณะเดินเอ้อระเหยอยู่ริมถนนกลางใจเมืองซิดนี่ย์ ไปสะดุดตากับป้าย 'Sydney Film Festival 2007' ในใจหวังไว้ว่า "พลอย" อาจจะได้มาฉาย เพราะ 'Invisible Waves' ยังได้มาฉายที่เมลเบอร์น เมื่อเทศกาลภาพยนตร์ปีที่แล้ว เดินหาแผ่นพับแจกฟรีเกี่ยวกับเทศกาล เปิดมาปุ๊บ เจอเลย กรี๊ดในใจร่วมห้านาที แสงศตรวรรษ ได้มาฉายที่นี่!!!
นอกจากจะมี "แสงศตวรรษ" แล้ว "เด็กหอ" ก็ยังได้มาฉายในเครือ "หนังเด็ก" อีกด้วย น่าดีใจเป็นแน่แท้ แถมท้ายด้วยหนังสั้นไทยไปคานส์เรื่องแรก "GRACELAND" ก็ได้มาฉายพ่วงกับหนังเช็ก เรื่อง 'Beauty in Trouble' อีกด้วย น่าดูเป็นที่สุด

Weerasethakul is one of the most admired and idiosyncratic of the new generation of South-East Asian filmmakers. His cinema is infused with the languid tropical heat of Thailand, which plays dreamlike havoc with narrative and frequently controls his characters and their actions. His new film is a whimsical account of the lives of his parents (both doctors) before their courtship, and centres first on the woman, in an old-fashioned regional hospital, and then on the man, in an alienating contemporary hospital. Playing with memory and repetition, the two parts seem to mirror each other, but variances intrude. Amongst the film's many pleasures is a nod to the hospital soap opera (though it is hard to imagine a monk that dreams about chickens as a patient on E.R.!).
